சென்னை: நவ., 25 முதல் டிச., 8 வரை தமிழகம், புதுச்சேரி, காரைக்கால் பகுதிகளில், வடகிழக்கு பருவமழை இயல்பை விட குறைவாக இருக்கும் என கணிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக சென்னை வானிலை மையம் கூறியுள்ளது.

 வானிலை மையத்தின்... தென்மண்டல தலைவர் பாலச்சந்திரன் கூறியதாவது: தமிழகம், புதுச்சேரி, காரைக்கால் பகுதிகளில் கடந்த நவ., 17 முதல் 23 வரை காலகட்டத்தில் வடகிழக்கு பருவமழை இயல்பை விட குறைவாக பதிவாகி உள்ளது இந்த காலகட்டத்தில் இயல்பான அளவு 34 மி.மீ., பதிவான அளவு 3 மி.மீ., இது இயல்பை விட 91 சதவீதம் குறைவு 16 மாவட்டங்களில் மழை பதிவாகவில்லை.

 Balachandran, head of the Meteorological Center's South Region, said: "Northeast Monsoon rainfall has been less than normal in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal areas from November 17 to 23. This is 91 percent less than normal and 16 districts did not record rain.
