உலக ஈரநிலங்கள் நாளான இன்று, ராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் சக்கரக்கோட்டை மற்றும்
தேர்தங்கல் பறவைகள் காப்பகங்கள் புதிய ராம்சர் பகுதிகளாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள
செய்தியைப் பகிர்வதில் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சியடைகிறேன். இத்துடன், தமிழ்நாட்டில் உள்ள
ராம்சர் பகுதிகளின் எண்ணிக்கை இந்தியாவிலேயே மிக அதிகமாக 20-ஆக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.
இவற்றில் 19 இடங்கள் நாம் 2021-இல் தமிழ்நாடு ஈரநிலங்கள் இயக்கம் தொடங்கியதற்குப்
பிறகு ராம்சர் பகுதிகளாக அறிவிக்கப்பட்டவை என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. ஈரநிலங்களைப்
பாதுகாப்பதில் நமது திராவிட மாடல் அரசு உறுதியாக உள்ளது. வளமான நமது இயற்கை மரபைக்
காக்க மேலும் பல ஆக்கப்பூர்வமான நடவடிக்கைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து முன்னெடுப்போம்!

World Wetlands Day, I am extremely delighted to share the designation of two
more Ramsar sites, Sakkarakottai and Therthangal Bird Sanctuaries in
Ramanathapuram District, increasing the number of Ramsar sites in Tamil Nadu to
20, the highest in the country, with 19 sites designated subsequent to the
launch of the Tamil Nadu Wetlands Mission in 2021. Our Dravidian Model
Government remains committed to conserving wetlands and will continue to take
proactive steps to protect our rich natural heritage.
